Showcase 28. Ceremonial arms and armour of a Russian governor of a province in the 17th century

In the 16th - 17th centuries, firearms became widespread in Russia. New types of weapons having appeared, the traditional sidearms, i.e. maces, six-flanged maces and other flanged maces, battle-axes etc., lost their military importance and became merely the insignia of military authority. Showcase 28 represents a full set of the 17th-century armour for a governor of a province.
